June 2016 Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Review
Y’all it’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box reveal day, and June’s box was chock-full of fancy, deluxe-sized goodies! If this is the first time you’re hearing about this rad subscription service, it’s a monthly beauty box ($22.95/month with free shipping) that delivers 4-7 vegan and cruelty-free items (ranging from unique cosmetics to luxurious skincare) right to your doorstep. It’s the easiest way to discover cruelty-free brands without committing to full-size products or prices. You can sign up for this beauty box here. You can also peep my past Vegan Cuts Beauty Box reviews here.
June’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box included:
Clarisea Rapid Detox Charcoal Exfoliant for Face,* $3 – I’m pretty much obsessed with activated charcoal these days. It can be a bit messy but man, the benefits are redonk. This all-natural exfoliant vacuums up ALL the gunk and impurities from deep within pores (yassssss, please!). You just add a bit of this to your favorite facial cleanser and gently scrub-a-dub-dub.
DeVita Solar Protective Moisturizer Mineral Sunscreen,* $5 – I love that sunscreens are popping up in subby boxes, especially the all-natural varieties. This is a mineral sunscreen (with SPF 30) and light moisturizer in one (great for under makeup). It’s formulated specifically with those with sensitive and/or acne prone skin. I will most likely be purchasing a full size of this bad boy.
OFRA Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Laguna Beach,* $19.90 – I love long-lasting matte lippies, but they’re typically hella drying. OFRA’s Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick offers intense, highly pigmented color that doesn’t feather, and it stays put. The formula is creamy and soft, super moisturizing, and it’s infused with antioxidants and Vitamin E. The color is supposed to last in a perfect condition up to five hours without eating or drinking (!). It’s important to note that this lippie is not a stain. It won’t dry completely but it’ll stay put on your lips for hours! And how pretty is this pink!?
Mai Couture Vitamin C + E Blotting Papier, $12 – If you get all shiny like moi during the day, (glowy is more like it), blotting papers are pretty rad (disposable toilet seat covers work in a pinch, too – lil’ life hack there). I adore this brand, and their lil’ booklets of beauty stuffs (they also make blush and highlighter sheets). These blotting sheets are ultra soft, hypoallergenic, and they’re infused with Vitamin C+E. These are def goin’ in mah purse!
Glow for a Cause wish Solid Perfume, $18 – I’m liking this simple formula of coconut oil, candelilla wax (heads up – they have a beeswax version of this, too), organic shea butter, organic cocoa butter, vitamin E and GLOW’s signature perfume blends. This blend smells SO pretty, like sweet flowers and candy!
PureSOL Bamboo Charcoal Konjac Facial Sponge, $10 – Whoa, 2 charcoal beauty products in one box – score! The plant-based konjac sponge contains activated carbon and essential minerals to help cleanse absorb excess grime. It’s gentle on the skin and is especially great for oily and acne-prone skin. While I’ve tried many, many konjac sponges over the years, this is my first time receiving one with a little suction cup. Love it!
*faves from this month’s box
Overall impression: There’s a lot of bang for the buck in this month’s beauty box (everything together is valued at $68!), and it was a lovely mix of skin care, body care, and makeup! Box faves: OFRA’s long-lasting lippie, Devita sunscreen, and Clarisea charcoal face scrub. I’m gonna use everything in this box though, so I’d say June’s VCBB was a hit!
